How much do you love playing Candy Crush Saga? Enough to go to jail for it? I mean I know some levels are really tough but can it really be that much of an addiction??
A British woman was given a 12 week jail sentence after her Candy Crush addition reportedly caused her to steal £1000 from her mother. The 45 year old, Sally-Anne Turner, was acting as her mother’s carer. With access to her mother’s bank accounts, Turner stole the money over a two year period.
Turner’s mother began to notice that the money had gone from her account. The court was told that Turner had been using her mother’s bank accounts to make purchases in Candy Crush and other online games.
During the court case, held in Chelmsford Crown Court, the woman explained that she was very remorseful for her actions and that she was no longer playing online games. However, due to the theft and fraud, she was given a suspended jail sentence and three month curfew.
While the court case might be unusual, it does show how much people are involved in online games. In fact, with 93 million people playing over a billion times each day, there are a lot of candies being crushed!
Turner isn’t alone in her addiction to online games, or her willingness to spend a lot of money on them. Players spent nearly £300 million in Candy Crush in the last three months of 2013 alone. This is through buying extra boosters, additional lives, or to unlock more levels of the game.
However, it isn’t necessary to spend money to complete the game. Many players are able to complete the 635 levels of the game without ever paying for a booster or extra life.
With the addition of the Daily Booster Wheel, it is less necessary to purchase these helpful bonuses in the game. As always, lives are renewed after a set amount of time.
Extra lives can also be gained with a few tricks. At certain times, you can even get a booster and lives by playing a certain number of levels of other games.
You can also make the moves and lives you do have much more effective when you know the best way to play the game. One reason people feel the need to spend money on the game is that they make bad moves and run out of lives too quickly, or get stuck on a level for too long.
Some levels will be easy for you to complete, but when you come to one that isn’t, the tips, hints, and cheats on allcandycrush.com are here to help! With advice for the game as a whole and individual levels, we can show you the best ways to complete even the most challenging levels.
